DESCRIPTION:The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period\, which takes place between October 15 and December 7\, provides an opportunity for seniors to consider their Medicare options and make important changes to their coverage as appropriate. Unfortunately\, a great deal of confusion about the many plans and options exists (which one is best or me?)\, because seniors are being besieged by TV ads\, phone calls\, and mailed materials from multiple companies. \nMark Gottlieb\, MHA\, an independent insurance agent who is certified to offer a full range of Medicare products from many well-rated insurers (including AARP)\, will be presenting. He will explain all components of the Medicare program\, as well as address changes that have been made to both Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans for 2026. \nThis online event is organized by East Rock Creek Village\, but is open to everyone.

DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, August 17 from 4–6pm\, East Rock Creek Village is hosting a live jazz concert at the Marketplace Plaza at The Parks at Walter Reed. It’s a Summer Celebration of Music & Community\, an open-air afternoon of live music\, connection\, and summer joy. Enjoy a free performance by jazz singer and native Washingtonian James Keith Zimmerman accompanied by a five-piece band. Steeped in the time-honored tradition of the great jazz vocalists\, Zimmerman’s voice has been described as like that of a horn\, and his performances are presented in an original\, authentic style. He evokes the spirit of the masters who have inspired him—artists such as Jon Hendricks\, Oscar Brown Jr.\, Sarah Vaughan\, Eddie Jefferson\, Bill Henderson\, Frank Sinatra\, Miles Davis\, and Al Jarreau. Zimmerman’s repertoire includes the best of jazz standards\, blues\, bebop\, swing\, Broadway musicals\, and Bossa Nova. \nThe concert will take place at The Parks at Walter Reed Marketplace Plaza (Georgia Avenue & Dahlia Street NW) across the street from the new Whole Foods Market.
