SUMMARY:Eldercare Mediation: Navigating Family Conflict with a Plan
DESCRIPTION:When a major life transition occurs\, typically caused by an unexpected health issue\, confusion and conflict between family members happens when there is not a plan in place to care for their loved one. Learn how eldercare mediation can help individuals and families create a plan to support an older adult by facilitating the sensitive conversations about medical\, legal\, financial\, and living arrangements. Find out how resolving difficult issues in eldercare mediation avoids the emotional and financial costs of going to court. \nPaula Gibson is the founder of the Gibson Mediation Group\, a family law mediation firm that exclusively focuses on divorce and eldercare mediation. Paula is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and in Maryland. She serves on the Circuit Court Domestic Mediation rosters in Maryland\, is a mediator on the Domestic ADR Facilitator Roster in DC\, and she is an active member of the DC Senior Resources Group and GROWS (Grass Roots Organization for the Well-Being of Seniors). In her spare time\, you may find her at a Washington Capitals hockey game or hiking on the trails in Rock Creek Park.
