Dr. Katrina Polk, Ph.D., MPA, CAPS, PMP Executive Director

Dr. Katt leads the DC Villages Collaborative. Over her career, she has led public and private-sector organizations focused on serving older adults, including developing programs for aging in community at the Community Preservation and Development Corp.; building strategic alliances for affordable housing at Enterprise Community Partners; and, overseeing community and aging services for the city of District Heights, Maryland. Dr. Katt also founded Dynamic Solutions for the Aging, a social enterprise firm focused on solutions for the health and housing industries, with a focus on aging and community development. She was appointed co-chair of the Housing Domain for Age-Friendly DC and sits on the AARP DC Executive Council.

Bri Hornberger

Bri Hornberger is a designer passionate about utilizing human-centered design to create better products, systems, and services for all.

T. Carter Ross Communications & Outreach

Carter is a communications and outreach professional with a background in trade associations and journalism. Since 2020, he has focused on developing outreach activities and channels for Villages in Washington, D.C., and Prince George’s County, Maryland, to help them compile data, analyze their work, and tell their important stories.

Sharita Slayton Community Development

Sharita Slayton is a community-driven solutions oriented Native Washingtonian. Her deep commitment to the youth and seniors in Washington, DC, as well as her leadership in advocacy and sustainable change, shows how powerful grassroots efforts can be. From her role as Board Chair of the Legacy Collaborative Senior Village to her work with Dynamic Solutions for the Aging, LLC, she values inclusivity and ensuring those affected by challenges are part of creating the solutions. Her philosophy is crucial for truly impactful and lasting change. Her experience as a three-term DC Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in Ward 7, further highlights her dedication to serving and uplifting the community. Sharita Slayton holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and Business from National Louis University, and an Associate in Applied Science in Management Technology from the University of the District of Columbia.

Liz Winston Fundraising

Elizabeth Winston has worked with non-profit organizations across the sector as a grantwriter and development strategist for twenty-five years. She is the former Development Director for Theatre Washington and is the Executive Director of Provincetown Arts Press, where she also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the press’s annual arts magazine, Provincetown Arts. A DC-area native, Liz holds a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA in fiction writing and literature from the University of Houston.
