The Rutgers University Hub for Aging’s National Census of Villages is looking to better quantify and characterize the value Villages provide older adults across the nation. The DC Villages Collaborative is engaged in similar efforts here at the local level. From August 2025 to January 2026, Rutgers collected data from 245 Villages in 37 states; all 13 Villages that are part of the DC Villages Collaborative participated. Keep an eye on the project website as they release information about the survey’s findings over coming months.
