Morgan Gopnik, Ph.D., worked for 25 years as an expert in environmental science, with a focus on ocean policy, at the National Academy of Sciences, the U.S. Commission on Ocean Policy, and the Ocean Conservancy. She retired in 2016 and is now an active volunteer and Board Member at Northwest Neighbors Village. She was instrumental in forming the DC Villages Collaborative. She holds a Ph.D. from Duke University, a MS from Caltech, and a BS from McGill University. She enjoys reading, cooking, biking, and travel, and spends as much time as possible with her grandson.
