Nephelie Andonyadis

A theater artist, educator, and a gerontologist, Nephelie works at the intersection of community, arts, and policy to help change the culture of care and care systems for all older adults. Nephelie has been a lead artist and consultant in creative aging programs across DC. , including with Capitol Hill Village, The Phillips Collection, Genevieve N. Johnson Senior Center, Arts for the Aging, and Iona’s Washington Home Center. She is member of the Palisades Village, where she serves President of the Board of Directors, and is also a Panhandler, cooking in community. She holds a BS from Cornell University School of Architecture, an MFA from Yale University School of Drama, an MS in Aging and Health from Georgetown University, and tenure as professor of theater arts. Her scenic and costume designs have been seen in regional theaters from coast to coast and in DC, where she was honored with the 2020 Helen Hayes award for scenic design.
