Dupont Circle Village and Waterfront Village, two members of the DC Villages Collaborative were honored with the 2025 Finishing Strong Award from the Washington Area Villages Exchange. The award recognizes programs and Village work to encourage more conversations and discussions about end-of-life issues, expand the long-term impact of our area Villages, and create programs that other villages across the nation could emulate.
Dupont Circle Village was honored for its six-session program on preparing for the final stage of life. The series takes a thorough and supportive approach to addressing end-of-life issues and planning with care and intention.
Waterfront Village was honored for its “Future Framework: Getting Your Ducks in a Row” classes and workbook, which also addresses end-of-life and future planning issues. The classes are open to Village members and the broader public with sessions planned for February and October 2025.
Also honored was Cheverly Village in Prince George’s County for its “Peace of Mind-Navigating Life to the End” program.
